Mark has been joint Managing Director of ævolve since the launch of the company in January 2008. Previously he held the position of MD of Carat Insight and during his 15 years within Aegis has also been Planning Director at BBJ (now Vizeum).
Mark’s career began in the late eighties as a TV buyer before moving over to media planning. He has worked across a wide range of both service and consumer brands including VW, Standard Life, Microsoft, Halifax, Coca Cola and Coors brewers among others. His approach to understanding communications and consumers is rooted in an end user perspective, delivering actionable results and insight.
As well as his general management responsibility within ævolve, Mark’s role is to apply his breadth of media planning experience to the consumer insight and evaluation tools and techniques developed for clients of the Aegis Media group.
James graduated with a first class degree in economics from Surrey and Michigan State University in 1996. After graduation, James spent the next two years working as a Database Marketing Analyst at PPP Healthcare.
In 1998 he moved agency side to work for Dunnhumby, working on a range of clients such as Powergen, Tesco, British Red Cross and Channel 5. Promoted to Senior Analyst in 1999, his work focussed on using client’s own data to drive customer understanding and improve marketing efficiency.
James joined Carat in 2000 as an Associate Director of Data Planning. He was promoted to the Carat board in 2002, and became Head of Data Planning in 2005, building the department from a team of 4 to a team of over 20.
When Carat Data Planning and Carat Insight came together to form ævolve in January 2008, James joined Mark Greenstreet as joint Managing Director.
